Scribes Hired for Heigl's Drawn Together
Fox 2000 has hired screenwriters Keith Merryman and David A. Newman to pen the Katherine Heigl action-comedy Drawn Together, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The trade adds that the studio would only say the film centers on an electronics designer who meets the woman of his dreams, only to find out that she's not who she seems to be.

Heigl will star as well as produce with manager and mom Nancy Heigl under their Abishag production company.

Robert Kosberg and Bruce Nash are executive producing under Nash Entertainment.

Katherine Heigl Plans Escape

Variety says Katherine Heigl (27 Dresses, Knocked Up, "Grey's Anatomy") will star in and produce the feature film adaptation of "Escape," the best-selling memoir of Carolyn Jessop, whose testimony helped convict polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs.

Relevant Entertainment and Como Court Productions acquired the book. Michael Menchel and Cat Williams will produce with Heigl and her Abishag partner Nancy Heigl.

Jessop was born into the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints sect. At 18 she married a man 32 years her senior; at 35, she fled with her eight children.

Heigl is shooting the Robert Luketic-directed Sony/Lakeshore comedy The Ugly Truth. (source)

Katie and her husband Josh Kelley were out and about yesterday, attending the 7th Annual Chrysalis Butterfly Ball. She looked absolutely stunning! Over 70 pictures have been added to the gallery.
